Your Balloon Fiesta Packing Guide (Don't Show Up Unprepared)

It's almost that time, ABQ. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta kicks off in just a few weeks, and if you've been before, you know the drill: 5am wake-up, cold desert air, and a field packed with thousands of people all trying to get the perfect shot of 500 balloons lifting off at once.

It's one of the most spectacular events on earth. But showing up unprepared? That's a rookie move. Here's what to pack.

Layer Up — Mornings Are Cold

Even in early October, Albuquerque mornings at the Balloon Fiesta Park can dip into the 40s. By 10am it's 70°F and sunny. You need layers you can actually carry once you peel them off.
